Award A. Simpson is passionate about preaching the Gospel and bringing to life its message of repentance, hope, and healing. As pastor of the Heart of the Bridegroom Church (The Heart Church) in Tallahassee, Florida, Pastor Simpson is enlightening, empowering and encouraging believers and unbelievers alike. Known as the servant leader, he has great compassion for the people of God knowing that ...the Lord's portion is His people (Deut. 32:9). He is aware of the fact that many people are scarred by past church hurt, which is why he strives to honor God's flock as the Bible declares in 1 Peter 5: 2-3. Pastor Simpson is adamant about doing what God called him to do and that is to Love His People! He dissects the Bible through a historical and theological lens, but yet makes it applicable to the common hearer. He challenges the notions of tradition by focusing on relevancy rather than routine and doing out-of-the-box Kingdom ministry. He often exhorts believers to pursue an intimate relationship with Christ through thorough study of the Word of God and a passion for Worship.   

 

Pastor Simpson, now in his mid 30s, has actively been involved in ministry since the age of 17, when he served as one of the Ministers of Bridegroom Apostolic Church in Jacksonville, FL under the leadership of his spiritual father, Pastor A. L. Luster. Pastor Simpson's passion for the Gospel has allowed him to minister through-out the country reaching thousands with the Love of Christ. At 23, he became the Vice President for the Florida State Council's (P.A. of W.) Young People, serving and empowering the youth (over 55 churches in Florida) with practical Godly tools to use in their daily lives. At 24, he was elevated to President and has held that position for 6 years. Under his tenure, many souls were saved and countless lives transformed. He has also accomplished academically receiving his Associate's Degree in Biblical Studies and a Bachelor's Degree in Theology from Logos Christian College. He is presently pursuing his Master's of Divinity. His many accomplishments, thus far, are of no surprise to his family. As a young child, Pastor Simpson was seen preaching to empty chairs, trees, and to friends at school with no reservation. Today this Jacksonville native continues to fulfill the legacy of The Bridegroom which began with the founding pastor, W. W. Hicks. 

 

Pastor Simpson is honored to be married to Regina R. Simpson. They have 2 wonderful blessings, Antonio and Kalea. He embodies a family first mentality. Understanding that his family is his first ministry, he is striving to be a man of uncompromising integrity. Together they will continue to pursue the will of God and walk the path ordained for their lives.
